Not many people know this about me, but I love the works of Andy Warhol. The daring ways he used color and repetition in his work had me at "Hello."
Andy Warhol started as a commercial illustrator and later became a leading, and at times controversial, figure in the visual arts movement known as pop art. Some of his works include imagery from pop culture, news, advertising, and celebrity icons.
If you've been to a grocery store (or Target) in the past few weeks, you may have seen the bold and colorful new packaging for Perrier. For a limited time only, Perrier is featuring the designs of Andy Warhol with four exciting new label designs.
Some bottles feature quotes from the pop artist including: "People should fall in love with their eyes closed" ; "Everybody must have a fantasy" and "Art is what you can get aways with."
During the 1980s, Andy Warhol created a series of silkscreen prints depicting the bottles of sparkling water brand Perrier expressed in a bold color palette. the works were an extension of the pop artist's continued exploration into portraying consumer products in new, graphic ways, in which he developed more than 40 works using the signature Perrier bottle as his subject.
What do you think of the limited-edition packaging? I'm loving it!
